Wheel fitment for 2004–2008 Canyon 4WD – Looking for OEM-like fitment

Hello fellow Canyon owners,
I’m working on my 2008 GMC Canyon 4WD (GMC Canyon SLE extended cab, 4-wheel, 2.9L engine) and trying to find wheels that fit like the OEM ones — without sticking out past the fenders. My factory spec is 15×7J with +33 mm offset.


I’m honestly surprised how many wheel sites list all sorts of options with offsets ranging anywhere from 0 to +20 mm for this truck. That seems quite a bit off from stock.


This offset calculator is pretty helpful for comparison:

I was wondering if anyone here has recommendations for wheels that sit flush (or close) to the factory setup.
If you’re running a similar setup, I’d love to hear your feedback — especially on stance, tire size, and how it looks/fits.

I’m open to any suggestions if a slightly different width or offset works better for everyday driving or light track use.

I also found a used set of GMC wheels: 17×7.5J with +31 mm offset.
Has anyone here run this setup? I want to make sure they’ll work without the wheels sticking out too far or causing clearance issues.
Will this size and offset sit close to stock, or will the extra width (+0.5") and slightly lower offset (+31 vs +33) push them out too much?
Accordantly to the offset calculator, it is +8 mm to the outer edge of the wheel.
