I've been looking high and low for a 2012 2wd Sierra with the "max trailering" package that includes the 6.2L engine. My local dealer says he can't find any, and I can't find any listed anywhere in the US.

Have any been made??

My local dealer has a lot FULL of Sierras, but nothing close to what I want (2wd SLT crew cab with max trailering). The closest he's been able to find is a 4WD crew cab with max trailering and Z71 package... but I don't need 4wd and don't want the stiffer ride of the Z71.

When i was buying mine back in 2010 I ran into the same problem. If it's anything like what I had to go through. I had to break down and get the 4wd.

The dealers won't order them for stock because they are afraid no one will buy one. I have a 2012 GMC Sierra All Terrain Z71 with 6.2L on order since Jan 19th and its being held up because the Navigation radio is on constraint.

Order Number: QCW---
Status 01/19/2012 - (1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.

This was back on Jan 19th and as of yesterday's constraint report, its still a no go. I won't remove it because the next day it will be lifted for sure.
GM NAVIGATION RADIO NOW RESTRICTED

Due to a supplier constraint, the new Audio System with Navigation (option code UYS) is highly
restricted across multiple model lines, including Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban,
Yukon XL and Avalanche. The duration of the constraint is expected to last more than four weeks.

I know my dealer order several Sierra's with they 6.2L engine because rumors have it it will be dropped from the 1500 series and moved to the 2500 in 2013 in order to boost the CAFE on the light duty trucks. I have no idea what part of the county you are located in but this dealer is in Upper Michigan and I can give you a contact, asst sales manager is a friend. These trucks for stock would have been ordered around Jan 16th as well. He mentioned it was like pulling teeth to convince dealer management to order several of them for stock and this is a dealer who sell 500 GMC's a year. 5.3L AFM trucks are the most popular.

I just reread your post, no chance this dealer would order a 2wd like you are looking for, dealers won't stock most 2wd's (basic work trucks yes) because its rare anyone buys them in this area due to the bad winter weather we have.

As Z15 has been telling you those options aren't available together but what you can do is you could do like Z15 and order the vehicle from a local GMC dealer if you've got one. They would be able to order it for you and take care of any other options you might want or not want. You can get the truck exactly how you want it rather than something that has been ordered by the dealer simply because its popular. I hope this helps and I hope you find your truck.
