Will a rear end from a '85 2WD silverado fit under an '85 4WD GMC Jimmy?

I've got an '85 4WD GMC Jimmy (full size), and the rear end has come apart on me. I found an '85 Silversdo rearend in a salvage yard, and was wondering if it would match up to my Jimmy. I'm not concerned about the gear ratio, as the front axle will stay disengaged, and front drive shaft will be pulled out. Any help will be appreciated.

It should fit. I would still make sure the gearing was the same. Why have a 4 wheel drive that can't be put in 4 wheel dr.
