If I was to swap out my 4.3 vortec engine in my 95 jimmy for a 5.3 Vortec engine would the original transmission hold up to the boost in horse power and tourque or would I need to also swap the trany too?

Yup, you need to replace the boost valve 0.490" ($35.00) and the servo's with Corvette servo's ($45.00) if not less. The boost valve can be replaced with the transmission pan down and the Servo's can be swapped out without dropping the transmission pan.

I'm running the 0.490" boost valve and the Corvette servo and the B&M Shiftplus electronic improvement. On my 1996 Jimmy and it's been like this for 365,000 miles and yes I do replace the boost valve every 100,000 miles to ensure the transmission will last for the beating the 4.3 can give it.

Here is link where you can get parts or a walk up kit for your transmission to match the amount of HP your planing to beat it with. :D
