Problem is:
some times when i turn them on, they dont start. So then i have to grab a wiper and force it to move and then they start moving.
Also some times they will just stop working, and i have pull on them and move them to get them started again.
The motor is strong and will work on all the speeds.
And the wiper switch in the turn signal arm feels good and seems to be working.
Could it be a bad rely or a dead spot on the wiper motor ?

thanks

I have a similar issue with my 1992. It sits outside all the time. When it is wet and hasn't been started for awhile, the wipers will not work. As the vehicle warms up, they work randomly and after awhile they work just fine. Haven't looked at anything. I am wondering if a ground or a connection is bad. Never tried moving the wipers while on. That sounds like something is binding.

There was a recall a few years ago for this issue. The problem is the circuit board on the electric motor will crack where the the wire harness connects too.

There is a plastic cap on the wiper motor. Take the cap off, turn the wipers on and press on the circuit board.(with your fingers or a plastic screwdriver handle) There have been many with a bad solder joint on a large ground lug on that board. If that proves to be the problem, you don't even have to remove it. Turn off the power and re-heat that big joint with a soldering gun, melt the solder enough to get good flow and you got it.

Or you can replace the board with a new one, you can pick one up at NAPA or Auto Zone. Good luck and keep us posted. :D
