My wipers occasionally turn off when i turn them on when its raining. i cant tell if its the tiny motors in the wipers themselves or the motor under the hood of the truck i really could use some answers of what it might be.

Good chance its going to be the circuit board has gone bad and you can fix it or replace it. Here is a Youtube link to how to address your wiper issue.

Molson nailed it. Exact same thing happened to me. New circuit board is $30 and it takes 10 minutes to replace. I tried to resolder the bad points on mine and it only lasted another month or so. Just buy a new one.
