Wireless Charging Pad - phone doesn't fit

Have a 2017 with the wireless charging pad. For some reason, GMC didn't design it to fit a modern phone, ie plus size iphone. Anyone found a work around for this issue to be able to use the wireless charging pad?
 
2021 Canyon AT4 and the charging compartment is definitely still too small for a Galaxy 9 but it works.

2021 Canyon designed to fit the Apple SE or new Apple Mini perfectly (Dealer Rep had one he showed me the charging feature). I was surprised that my Apple 10 with cover fit in compartment about half way and charges. But really my phone spends most of its time plugged into Apple Play in the front cubby which puts your phone apps on the display, interfaces with all the hands free functions and charges.

Agreed, I have the 2021 AT4 and no phone made within the last 4 years would fit the wireless charging pad. You'd think if they made a newer truck with a wireless charger, they'd at least check dimensions of modern phones.
 
I have a 2021 AT4 and my Samsung won't fit either. But from previous comments it doesn't sound like it needs to lay flat on the charging pad. I'm going to give it a try.
