How many miles would I be able to run with half tank of gasoline in a GMC Sierra 5.7?

You should have a 34 gallon tank, so at half tank you should get around 200 miles city and 310 miles on the highway, if your not to hard on the gas peddle with the cruise control and not hauling any extra loads, tire all at 38 PSI. That is based on you getting 13 MPG on city and 18 MPG on highway and average on 15 MPG would give you around 250 miles before you start walking LOL.

Your right ED, where have you been eh. Things going good i hope, and did you get the remote transmission filter installed yet???
Not yet on the remote trans filter. Still a bit too cold, and I need a dry place to work on it. It'll probably have to wait till the big thaw. I did manage to put new spark plugs in, and while it was in at the shop getting a new outer passenger door handle installed, I had them replace the fuel filter. The fittings were so rusty and stuck, I couldn't do it. Also had a general inspection, and all was well, except a little low on the rear end fluid.

That's kool, i know what you mean about the cold eh. I started to work on my son's 1996 blazer i got for him for x-mass. Guy sold it to me for $500.00 with transmission problem, it was running in limp mode and the guy was tired of adding more money in to it being 14 years old. Body is good and engine too, i did find the problem with the transmission, the wire leads to the transmission was corroded so i cleaned it up and replaced the clip and transmission works fine now. Just have to get it to my buddy's transmission shop and replace a few things and change the shift points with the Tech@ scanner. My son found a set of Corvette rims for sale so he bought it and i ended up putting them on. The front axle shaft was a bit to long making the end cap's pop out from the rims so i took the grinder to the axle shaft and now the rims fit with the caps
. Next thing to do will be to lower the blazer 2 inches and work on the exhaust, 2.5 cat back. Did the de-screening of the MAF and the Throttle blade modification and added the B&M shiftpluse electronic improver part#70380 and the high flow cone air filter that was around the garage. He's only 15 now so i have about a year to get it running the way he wants it and he's learning as we go through the truck working on it together when he comes up to visit me from his mom.

Oh and if your fuel lines and transmission lines have started to corrode, you can replace them with nylon lines like i did with my jimmy.
