whats better for my 1997 gmc sierra 5.7l truck? a flowmaster 40 series or super 44,

i think molsons got it backwards. the super 44 is louder. i have a 40 series on my GM and i think it sounds great. as far as witch 1 is better for your truck well i dont think BETTER is the case its how you want your truck to sound.... its a tough decision to make cause you cant go try on mufflers you know what i mean? ask around, if you hear a truck you like ask him/her what they got..... try youtube to like searching for GMC with flowmaster exhaust, i think you may have some luck.....

Here's how I rate 'em:

Original 40 - loud inside/outside.

Delta flow 40 - not as loud as original, but a few more hp.

Super 44 - quieter in/louder out, few more hp than both.(what I had on my jimmy before the Magnaflows)

40 series = 2 chamber
50 series = 3 chamber(quieter than above)

i rarely meet people who worry about the sound in the cab. Personally i dont worry about the sound in the cab. also there are many variables that pertain to how the exhaust sounds inside the cab such as tailpipe exit location, and the type interior, cloth absorbs more sound waves than leather would, so a truck with leather would be a bit louder than one with cloth. and allot of trucks have vinyl floors instead of carpet witch would also be louder inside. another variable would be the driver themselves. i have a lead foot so it gets loud in my truck but when i drive slower like in the rain you hardly notice the tone in the truck. and back to the tailpipe exit location, i have a flowmaster catback w/ a 40 series and it exits out the side infront of the rear pass. tire. unfortunately while off-roading i bent my tailpipes and had to cut them off behind the muffler and this considerably raised the volume in the cab but i dont mind..... at any rate i recommend flowmaster but its whatever you think sounds good....
