While my girlfriend was looking over my truck we took notice from looking at it, it looks like there are 6 speakers but in reality there are only 4, the ones in the dash are blanks but have wiring capabilities for 4x6 square speakers. With my gf's knowledge of car audio installation (she worked for Circuit City in the car audio department and has all the tools necessary to do pro work at home) she is in the process of getting the factory speakers replaced and put in a tight Pioneer speaker system (including sub/amp....) Pioneer is my favorite brand.

She took apart the doors and checked the ones in there factory 6.5's...and then looked at the ones in the dash, was surprised that there wasn't any. She felt around for any wiring harnesses and at first couldn't find any but felt some more and found them. She said to me even if there wasn't any wires that wouldn't be a problem for her to wire in speakers for the dash. Ok, I trust her judgment she knows what she is talking about. (You should hear her system in her Grand Am...factory stereo and her amps and stuff...sweet bass)

I have a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP 50W MP3 CD Tuner with Blue OEL Display already installed that I got last year. MOSFET 50W x 4 AM, FM, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC iPod® with the optional iPod® adapter, 3 RCA Pre-Outs, advanced EEQ+ with LPF and HPF tuning, I love this system!

As of right now, of those 4 speakers only the driver side and rear passenger door speakers work. As soon as finances allow we will be replacing all with Pioneer speakers. Also adding a sub and amp system too.

Why the false speaker? When it is stated there are 6?

Also, to sneak in here. What is the best and inexpensive way to fix rust areas...the most biggest is up by the 3rd light, it is not noticable until you get up by the light. I have a scratch on rear panels and who had the truck before me did a shitty job "painting in the lines" of the scratch, what would be a cheap way to fix that...I was thinking maybe graphics that I have picked out and among other exterior bling (lol)...hood scoop, bug deflector, grill....etc. Well, that is all for now....anything helps.

Hi Kat, see things are going good for yha. As for your question on why only 4 and not 6 speakers in your Jimmy, not all came with 6 and not all came in with 4X6 in the dash. The common speaker size was 1.5 inch tweeter in the dash and 6.5" at the front and rear doors. I my self is running Infinity Component KAPPA PERFECT 6.1 for the front and rear with two 10" Rockford Fostgate P1S810 10" Punch P1 8-Ohm SVC Subwoofer wired mixed mono to the R150-2 Prime 150 Watt 2-Channel Ampl.

I did have to add an extra tweeter to the front by the top post Infinity REF1031T since I have both 10" subs in a Single Reflex bandpass box enclosure for all the bass needed for the Jimmy. The only thing you need to be careful of Bandpass base boxes, is that yes there powerful and two 10" will out perform any two 12" sealed sub box. But you don't know if your cooking the subs till they blow up, so best thing to do is contact the Speaker Manufacture for the dimensions for a Bandpass box and enjoy the amount of bass you'll get with a medium size AMP like the R150 that I am using. Here is a link on Bandpass box enclosure and how to build them. http://www.ajdesigner.com/speaker/index.php There the best on getting as much bass for the smallest enclosure but they only work best as a component sound system.

As for the scratch on your Jimmy, all depends on how bad the scratch is. You can use a 2000 grid sandpaper and wet sand it down after you touch it up with touch up paint and then buff to match the rest of the area. The rust on top of the Jimmy where the third brake light is at. Try removing most of the rust with a sanding pen and use a 10 min epoxy over the small area you sanded and paint over with touch up paint. You can buy the sanding pen at Auto Zone and the touch up paint, epoxy at the dollar store.

Good luck and hope to see pic's of you Jimmy on http://www.cardomain.com/ :D
