I recently bought a 1996 GMC Jimmy that had a dent in the driver door and driver rear door. The driver door speaker won't work, the light won't turn on when that door is opened, and I also cannot lock the doors from there. Is this a simple wiring problem due to the dent, or will the entire door have to be replaced?

Snap the door panels off and take a look, dent may have caused the door harness to come unplugged. You can roll up the windows and take a 2x4 and a hammer and beat that dent out a bit while you're there.

Check the wire harness at the hinge. You'll see there is a black rubber tube and the wires to the speaker, window and lock runs through there. There is also a pin switch at the frame where the door hinge is at, inspect that for any damages/corrosion and repair/replace. Good luck
