Anyone have any easy fixes for sealing up rusted bottom side cargo doors? Used ones are in pretty much same condition and too expensive.

I use a mixture of Rustoleum paint and Mineral spirit, the mix should be 50% paint and 50% mineral spirits. This will produce a product with the consistency of milk. You want it nice and runny, but with a little body still. Too thin and you will have drips all over your car which will only add to the sanding work we are trying to avoid. Too thick and it will take longer to dry then we want. I found the best way to do this was to pour half of the paint can into another container. Then, add the mineral spirits to the remaining paint in the can. Mix it well and you are good to go!

Once the paint has been dried for a few days, respray it with Dupli-color to match your Vans original paint. The Rustoleum will keep the rust from forming again for a very long time and the Dulpi-color will match the rest of the vans color. Make sure you prep the area your going to paint over, which means you just don't go about panting over the rust. Wire brush most of the rust off and than sand it down and if you have to, use bondo to smoothen out are areas that has blemishes.

Good luck and this should help keep your van looking good for a long time and yes you can brush the Rustolium on with paint brush since it's going to be thin enough that is leaves no brush marks.
