Last year I had this same issue. While I was getting some work done on something else, I asked the mechanic to take a look. He said that a "flap was stuck," didnt charge me for anything and sent me on my way with ice cold air. Well, it's doing it again this summer.

What flap is this? Where is this flap? How can I fix it myself?

That is the temperature selector. It's in the heater box. Follow the cable from the heater control on the dash. Grab the arm the cable ends on and while you move the temp control towards cold with t other hand, twist the arm.

it,s probably the flap on the dash. sometimes you can take a knife and reach through and spread the flap.

Its probably the flap which moves inside the heater to select hot or cold

the blend door motor actuactor is not moving the door to let cool air in..suggest removing dash and replacing it.

Before you go taking the dash apart, it's common for the vacuum line from the engine to the vacuum canister to go bad and crack leaving your vacuum system to operate the heater/ac flapper diaphragm weak.

ON the drivers side of the engine by the throttle body area, you'll see a vacuum line that works it's way towards the vacuum canister on the drivers side fender by the fire wall.

Follow that line and inspect it for cracks and also the rest of the vacuum line and replace any rubber lines that seam to be dry rotted and cracked.

Start with that and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your Jimmy's A/C-Heater system running 100% again soon. :D
