When making trips with multiple stops, I'm experiencing a starting issue.

First start = Fine

Second start = Small period with no cranking after turning key. Click only with interior light dimming. Slow crank after that and engine starts

Third start = Longer period with no cranking after turning key, etc.

Any idea what would be causing this issue?

Many thanks for all answers given.

Bad battery, dirty terminals or bad starter. Drive it to an auto parts store and have them check the battery.

have your alternator checked out sound like its weak and not charging your battery

facts about cars in general and chevys spasificly
1 first start with battery and its cables
2 then go to starter solonoid,,,on chevys its part of starter..replace it all

Starter going bad, that's why your lights are going dim when you try to start the engine. The starter is pulling to much amp to turn the engine to start it.

It's could be the starter solenoid or armature, assuming no other electrical issues. In cold weather it will get worse. My brother's acted in a similar manner for months. I replaced my batteries with factory spec to no avail. When the starter begins to fail, it will turn slower and slower over time.

Check your batteries and cables for tightness and corrosion. I'd especially take note of the cable leading from the battery to the starter. Cable lead going to the starter that is loose will have similar problems as yours.
