1999 gmc sonoma engine issue?

hi i have a 2.2l gmc sonoma. When i start the truck and let it idle it sounds like the engine is missing. when i give it gas it sounds fine, no hesitation no missing. it also smells like it is running rich. any ideas?

Start with he simple and replace your fuel filter and clean your MAF Sensor. You can buy a spray can of MAF at most Auto Parts store like Auto Zone just follow the instructions on the can. A dirty MAF can cause your engine to run rich or lean, and also inspect all your vacuum lines. A crack vacuum line to your fuel pressure regulator can cause the issues your having, or a cracked vacuum line in the system.
