1999 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD that sometimes kicks into second gear.?

Sometimes when I am going about 10 mph and then start to accelerate it will kick into second gear but all the other gear will shift smoothly. Also when I come to a complete stop it will sometimes kick into second gear but all other gears will be fine. Whats wrong.
its an automatic and mine also kicks when I accelerate too fast.

what type of transmission auto maybe linkage needs adjustment or broke motor mount

it could be a motor mount. my caddi does the same thing if you accelerate a kind of fast..

Check TPS for smooth electrical response. If the response is jumpy or erratic at all, replace TPS. If the TPS is in good working order, you can have your transmission's TCM re-flashed to give you a softer 1-2 shift, but that will cause your transmission to have a shorter life span due to the 1-2 shift to slip more to give you a softer shift then a firm shift like you have.
