Is the bed of my 2010 GMC 1500 made of regular steel or galvenized. I noticed it scratches real easy. thanks.

Galvanized but if the scratch is deep enough that it get's past the Galvanize coating, the bed will still rust:eek: and will not be covered under warranty.:(

So the galvenized is just a coating. How deep would you say is too deep? I can see shiny metal but it isn't like peeling metal away or nothing.

Galvanized is a electrochemical process used to add a thin layer of another metal to an item made of steel, in order to prevent rusting. They use a hot-dip process I believe where the body parts are run thru the electrical charged solution.

Galvanized does not mean it will never rust,, just slows is down. If you wanted that then stainless steel would be the only way to go and expensive.
