I recently purchased a 2006 Sierra Crew Cab truck and two weeks later the blower is blowing cool air very lightly. I have read that replacing the Blower Motor Relay would solve the problem. Has anyone had this problem? Am I looking in the right direction? Thanks - Darin

Thinking it's the switch or the wire harness has melted, good chance the harness and resistor has melted. Inspect the wire harness first and replace if it's to badly burnt causing the current flow to be restricted, giving you poor performance to your blower motor.

Keep us posted and good luck.

The Blower Motor Resister was the problem. The harness was ok, but was a three pin connection rather than 7 terminal connecters commonly offered at NAPA, Checkers, Auto Zone. So after a lengthy discussion on why the difference I paid abouts $83 for a new one from GMC and waited 3 days. While I was waiting for the part, I wired a switch and a fuse from the 3 pin connector to the blower. It worked great.
