...I'm Myles and with another vehicle to drive I need a new forum...So here I am...I have a 2000 Sierra with about 135000 that I've been driving for a few months...but it has just officially become mine...So now I get to customize it to how I want it...I'm looking to get 33x12.50s on it and I've searched but I still don't know If I'll need a lift or leveling kit or not...probably some 12 inch glasspacks...toolbox and brush guard...nothing too extreme...I'll be driving it everyday and I've been through the lift kit/tires/gears/lockers with my Jeep and I just don't want to do it all over again....so I'm gonna keep it pretty mild...but this truck does have its problems...It takes a three turns of the ignition switch to crank it....It doesn't matter how long you try to crank it on the first 2 turns of the key...it always takes 3 turns...this thing chews through left front wheel bearings in a hurry...this will be the 3rd one in about 2 years...and I just don't know why....I don't do much work on these new computer controlled cars...so I kinda just keep my mouth shut unless I'm certain I can help....I'm really here to learn....so if you can shed some light on these questions of mine I'd really appreciate it....

Your staring issues sounds like a bad fuel pump, there is a check valve in the fuel pump sending unit that keeps the fuel pressure up to start the car. If your losing fuel pressure when you turn the engine off, you ether have a bad check valve or a leaking fuel pressure regulator.

If you have a leaking fuel pressure regulator, you should have a check engine light on and if you don't then good chance that your going to have to replace the fuel pump sending unit before is fails 100%. You can check this by testing the fuel pressure at the shredder valve, you should have a reading of 62-65 PSI when the ignition key is turned on to the start position "engine not running" and when the key's are turned to the off position. The pressure should not drop more then 5 PSi in 15 minutes. Anything faster then that would be a issue with your fuel pump check valve or fuel pressure regulator.

Good luck and keep us posted and better to replace the fuel pump in the summer time, rather then the winter.
