I bought the suburban used and it had the green anti freeze. I am replacing the radiator due to leaks and the owners manual says to use Dex cool becaus it is silica free and safe for aluminum parts. It's my understanding that is the red stuff. So the question is what is the right kind of anti freeze to use? Peak says it's safe for all makes and models and can be mixed with any kind. Any input would be great Thanks.

Dex Cool 19 liters, 50/50 mix Water/Dex Cool and service every 100,000 miles or 4 years, they say 5 years. Throughout the next 4 years, inspect every 6 month for level and concentration mixture. Too much water will boil over and too much Dex Cool will jell causing the coolant flow restricted.

Good luck and don't forget to replace the thermostat with a fail safe thermostat for some insurance that you will not have issues if it does fail.

Thanks, I also upgraded the radiator from the single core to the double core. It was a few bucks more but I figure, that, it is my tow vehicle so it can't hurt right. The ends are the same size and will fit into the saddles, so just a little more antifreeze.

You got it and don't convert to a electric fan system if your going to use your Suburban. The electric fans don't pull as much CFM as the conventional fan system that you have now. ;)
