My opinion is the 70,000 has more than proven itself if it's not been banged around. btw GMCs aren't panzies. If it has the 8 cylinder you can add a cat back with a flowmaster and disturbe the pease with a big grin. awesome factory power there. Also add an Air Raid cold air intake.

Great trucks, just keep up on the maintenance and get to know it's limitations.

Good luck and be safe:D

I have owned GMC's since 1999. Never had much problems with any of them, none with the drivetrains. Had a 99, 01, 04, 08 and now a 10. I was recently talking with a fella who bought my 99 from it 2nd owner with 250,000 miles with the engine and trans never touched.

Is it the old body style (called the classic) or the new body style?

I have a 2010 Sierre E. Cab

I have an 07 new body style. It has 50k miles. It has the 4.8L engine which runs great but is a little sluggish from a dead start. Gas milage is around 17 hwy. I haven't had any problems with it at all. It's a great truck!
