My 2000 Sierra needs a new cat system. A local garage wants to charge $995.00 (american) for the entire "Y" pipe assembly w/seals. This seems awfully high or is it in the ballpark? Thank you.
Bank 1 is malfuntioning. As you know, with 324,000 miles and it being the original cat system, it was only a matter of time. I checked around to see about putting on universal cats, but most say to use direct fit units, because the universals will cause it to code again. ?? Don't know which way to go.
When I get everything straightened out, with Magnaflow or not, should I still take it to a dyno shop to reprogram the PCM?
