so im planning on getting a 2000 gmc sonoma for my first car/truck (im 16) and i need help with:
i want to get it lifted and need to know how big can i go with the wheels?

i read somewhere that you can just buy blocks to lift it, and its cheaper

last anything else that i need to know about it.

You can go with the 31's and you can get a lift of about 2 inches buy just turning up the torsion bar keys to raise the front. For the rear, you don't need blocks. The blocks will lower your ride, your going to have to buy new shackles to raise the rear end. http://www.jackit.com/shackles/shackle_chevy.htm

Good luck and keep us posted:D

don't forget to find a lift kit with modified upper control arms. if you don't your ball joints will wear out every 10-20,000 miles, it will also allow you to properly align the front end. finally make sure you buy longer shocks. check out http://www.roughcountry.com/chevy_4wd_s10.html. good luck
