Sup guys, I'm new here, and so far I like it.
I'll tell you a little about my self, I live in California, I'm 18, and I recently bought a 1997 GMC Sierra K2500SLT 7.4L 454CID, it's black and lifted 4inches with 35" BF goodrich A/T tires. I also own a 1989 Pontiac Firebird, 2.8L 173CID, and will be soon dropping in a 335CID up to a TH700r4. I know more about Firebirds then I do about the Sierra. So I have come to you guys for help.

So here are my questions,
first, what size gas tank do I have? I've heard I have a 24gal tank, and a 32gal tank.
Second, the vin says I have a crew cab, but the GMC manual shows crew cabs having 4 doors, I only have two. So I am a little confused.
And my last question for now, is once in awhile when I start my truck, there's a faint whining until I put it in drive then it stops the whinning.

Thank you forthe help.
-Nick.

And one more thing, once in awhile, the check engine ligh kicks on, and it shifts really hard, but then the next day, the check enine light is off, and it shifts perfectly. What's happeneing?

Check your TPS sensor or replace it if the readings are erratic, the other issues it may have is a EPC valve going bad in the transmission and will need to be replaced before internal parts in your transmission breaks.

If there is an Auto Zone around your area, have them scan your Sierra for the DTC codes from your check engine light. Auto Zone scan free of charge and also go to a GM dealer with your Vin number and ask the parts department if they can print out your PRO codes to see what options were ordered to your Sierra.

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)
