2008 GMC sierra cruise control problem doesn't want to work?

I'm going to travel long distance this Sunday and i am needing asap answers of how to fix this problem. The light on the steering wheel lights up but when trying to activate the speed it just doesn't work, I'll dearly appreciate your answer's thank you

Basic warranty is 3 year / 36,000 miles on your Sierra so you may want to have the dealer address your cruise control issue. From what you have described, it sounds like it's your cruise control modulator that has gone bad and will need to be replaced.

I also have the same truck and problem. Replaced the brake switch but still not working. Still looking.
