The transmission started slipping the other day. I checked the fluid and it was low. I put fluid in it to notice later that it was leaking. Now even with the proper amout of fluid it is still slipping. It is also making a clicking noise, it makes the noise when it is idle and the ticking increases as i accelerate. but if it is in park it doesnt increase, only when I am giving it the gas as I am moving. Does anyone have any clue as to the problem, or what should I do.

First thing to check is the TV cable. With the gas pedal all the way to the floor and the TV cable disconnected pull the cable by hand and see if it will come out far enough to almost reconnect it to the Throttle body. There should be very little slack (if any) at this point. Adjust as needed and test drive. Then adjust it up and back until you have a 3-2 downshift at WOT at about 45 - 50 mph. That is a good starting point and you can now adjust the cable in small increments (don't go too far) for best shift points and shift feel without screwing up the trans.

If the TV cable is adjusted correctly then the next easiest thing to check is the Gov. Then the valve body for a stuck shift valve or a stuck TV valve. Keep us posted
