my rear driver side window stopped working, when i removed the door panel i could hear a click at the motor when i pressed the down button but it wouldn't roll down i hooked a multimeter up and i was getting power. i thought the motor went out but two days later i tried the window and it works. any ideas on what caused the problem.

Most common issue would be the switch it self. The easy fix would be to clean the switch with electrical contact cleaner. After years of use, the electrical arching when the windows are used will cause the contacts to have carbon deposits and the contacts are no longer good, causing poor connection.

Start with that and at try replacing the switch before you replace the electric window motor, also inspect the wire harness and connections for signs of damages.

Good luck and keep us posted.
