Hey guys,

Just bought a 1998 Jimmy with 127K miles

Would like to change out plugs.

Any recommendations on which plug would be best ??

Also should I consider distrib cap, rotor, and plug wires??

thanks !

Try to stay with the stock AC Delco platinum, but i use the Boch since there easy to pick up and always on special at Auto Zone or Parts Source. All the spark plugs can be accessed through the fender well and the #3 spark plug will be the hardest one to get at. your going to need a spark plug socket with a swivel. Once you have loosen the plug, your going to have to remove it by hand and install by hand also. Then tighten with the socket, and don't forget to use a good pair of spark plug wire boot puller.

As for the Distributor cap and rotor, i found the only one good to use is the GM OEM or http://www.accel-ignition.com/Produ...onName=Select+Aspiration&brandName=All+Brands I found from the past that any other parts will cause some type of issues with your ignition.

If you are going to replace your distributor cap and rotor, make sure you inspect the base of the distributor and clean any dirt from the breather screen. It's been known for the screen to collect dirty and condensation forms in the distributor which will cause a P0300 DTC does to be thrown.

Good luck and please enjoy your new Jimmy and don't forget to service your differential, transfer case, and transmission oil. Oh and almost forgot, service your coolant. You never know if the last owner did.
