what gears does a 1997 gmc sierra have?

the truck is a 1997 gmc sierra stl with a 5.7 liter v8. i'm planning on lifting it more and putting 35 inch tires on it i'd like to know what gears the truck has now(stock) and how much lower gears i'd need for the 35s

You can go to the GM dealer's parts department with your VIN number and they can look up the gears that was installed in to your Sierra. If you know PRO code to you rear end, you can look it up your self.
