My wipers were not working after my 1992 GMC truck sat for awhile. After the truck was up to temperature, the wipers worked fine. I was looking for a bad ground or a short from something getting wet.
After reading a few posts, it seems the wiper motor pulse module board is the first thing to check when the wipers act up, per Molson02536. I pulled the board and soldered the 5 contact points for the socket and the 2 for the pickup contacts. After a week of rain and going out and checking the wipers several different days, they worked properly in all 4 modes. Thanks Molson02536
BTW Auto Zone wants $29 for the board. Best price I found was Amazon @ $19.
