The wire harness that goes from the radio to the speakers can be un-clipped at the OEM radio. You can un-clip it from the OEM head unit and slice the wires or you can by a plug and play so you don't to cut up your harness. This is what you need to plug in to you stereo wire harness to keep your installation simple and clean. http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=70-1858

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

the stereo is hard wired in there is no way to unplug it from the back of the radio. it is literally soldered directly into the stereo. just tried to wire it in and my new radio didnt even power up. please help me about to lose my mind.

pretty sure i got it figured out. this truck used to have an EQ in it at one time. so there is a separate box underneath the dash. i pulled it down and there was the wire for the antenna and the wires to plug into the stereo connector. but its too bad that i already hacked up the connector that i had gotten already. so walmart tomorrow and ill get another one and hope it works. thank all of you for all of the help it is greatly appreciated.
