I am considering installing a MaxBrake travel trailer brake controller on a 2011 Sierra with StabiliTrak. This controller taps into one of the brake hydraulic lines near the master cylinder and uses the installed brake pressure sensor to control the travel trailer electric brakes.

The truck owner's manual states that if the vehicle is equipped with StabiliTrak, the trailer cannot tap into the vehicle's hydraulic brake system.

MaxBrake has stated that the brake controller should work properly with the ABS and StabiliTrak systems but that GM could void the warranty at their discretion.

Has anyone had warranty issues with a MaxBrake installation? Does anyone suspect that there could be warranty issues?

Common rule is that anything modified to a veridical that was not performed by the manufacturer "GM Dealer" will void any warranty related to any issues to the modification. You may want to check with your local dealer and see what that have to offer for the braking performance your looking for with towing a trailer. ;)

Keep us posted and have a safe holiday season.
