ok so we got an 89 sierra 1500 that we are swapping motors from a v6 4.3L to a v8 5.0L in if at all possible can we swap just engines and leave the v6 transmission? would the transmission hold up to the v8 in every day use and if not how long do you think we could run it for? thanks guys

You can, just replace the Boost valve with a 0.490" or 0.500" and your servos with Corvette servos and your transmission will be fine.
