700r4 swap?

I have a 89 gmc 4wd pickup with a 305.And im wondering if a 700r4 trans from a 86 chevy caprice with a 305 work in my pickup,will i run into any problems,im guessing the tailshaft will have to be switched but does anything else need to be?

can someone help me out plz

Replace the boost valve with 0.471" for firm shifts and 0.500" for extra firm shifts and install the 700R4 Corvette intermediate servo. This is the servo that comes from the factory in Corvettes and high performance Camaros.

The servo has 35% more holding power (fluid apply area) than the Caprice servo found on luxury cars. It'll give a firmer 1-2 and 2-3 shift and can be installed without removing the transmission or valve body.
