185 degree thermostat??? 4.3L

Where can I find a 185 deg thermostat for my 4.3l? I've tried ebay, summit, and jegs so far. any clues?

OEM for the 4.3 is 190 degree, anything cooler then that like the 160 degree. Your going to have to flash the PCM for new perameter to run the colder thermostat.

I think my year is a 195 thermostat, im running an electric cooling fan that shuts off at 195, but i dont think the thermostat is letting it get that cool. I've seen 180 degree ones, but i dont wan to go that low, shouldnt have to flash any computers either i wouldnt think just for having the thermo open up only 10 degrees sooner
 
no its not a racecar, the electric fan never shuts off cuz its set to turn off at 195, same rating as the thermostat, 195 degrees I put an electric fan in to save mpg's which it has helped actually.
 
going to anything other than the factory rated thermostat will affect your turcks computer, and emissions control.

Mayhaps you should hook up a "on/off" switch inside the truck to operate said fan "manualy!!"
 
Or you could make it so the fan shuts off at 205 with a little work. It's cheep to do just tell us what fan control system your using now.
 
I ve got a derail fan with another manufacuturer wiring. I went with the on at 200 off at 185 with a 180 engine thermostat. works great even if you arent racing! all in all it was around 90 bucks for everything
