89 s-15 4x4 trans swap

I have a 1989 s-15 4x4 with the 4.3 in it with a bad transmission and was wondering if a transmission of the same year off of a 2x4 would work. If anyone has any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated. thanx

They will work, just make sure you adjust your TV cable right or your going to burn up your transmission. Good luck and keep us posted

Thanks for the info. Do I need any special parts to bolt the transfer case?

Thanx Molsen for the advice, I have just taken the old transfer case and tranny out, it looks sile on the back of the tranny there is what the hanes manual calls an adapter, can I bolt it onto the 2x4 trannny and hook my transfer case to it or do I need any additional parts? P.S. It was my first time, what a learning experience but cool, Thank god I didnt have to remove the exhaust....

Quick Question Im new

Hi guys Im new to the forum and cant find what Im looking for...I recently was basically given a 1996 Jimmy4x4 in excellent shape inside and out minus the engine spun a crank bearing...I found a 1998 4.3 Blazer motor for cheap from a friend...will this be a direct fit into my Jimmy???
