I have a 2006 3500 series The signals quit working , the AC quit, and the tach jumps spiraticly.
When the engine light comes on everything works
When the engine light goes out these items quit working

anybody have any ideas?

someone said insturment cluster, but that doesn't control AC
someone said Body control Module ????
 
It’s been a few days since you posted this. Have you made any progress with this situation? Are you thinking about taking your vehicle to the dealer or fixing it yourself?

When the engine light comes on there are no codes

I took it to the dealer and they said it was the insturment cluster. I don't think the insturment cluster has anything to do with the AC not working.
 
Ideally, you should have a wiring schematic and a multimeter (to test volts,amps and ohms resistance). It's possible, if not probable, 1 or more wires in your instrument cluster are loose. But I'll leave this for those familiar with your instruments. As far as your A/c goes, you'll find you have multiple fuses for it. You didn't state whether it's the compressor or the interior cab fan that isn't working. That's something you'll have to find out, by either testing for power at the fuses and continuing on downstream, or starting at the other end, the compressor. I would check power across the fuses, then disconnect the plug at the compressor and check power there. See what power you've got and where. Make sure the in cab a/c and fan control knobs are "on". If not, it could make for a long day. Hope this helps
 
The problem with the AC is tied to the Tach and the signal lights It all happened at one time. The instrurment cluster doesn't control the AC.
