will a 454 with 700 r trani fit in my 2001

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra all stock boring as hell I want to make it a beast I recently found a 454 out of a mid 80s Chevy with a 700 r transmission I was told its a bad ass engine but wasn't sure if it would fit I need help a lot of help. Will it fit and what will I have to do to my truck to get that motor and trani in and running

It will fit with some old school work but ready for the bad news. You can't put a old engine in to a registered new car or truck due to the Emission standards that it calls for.

You can swap out the engine but it will have to registered as an off road use only. Best bet would be is to mod you current engine and transmission to get the performance your looking for.
