I have a 2004 Sierra and when I push the dash button to engage 4wd high all seems fine. The truck seems to go into 4wd but when I go to make a turn it starts to jerk. Feels like the joints are slipping or something. It really freaked me out. Can someone help me diagnose this before I have to take it to the shop. Is there something I can check myself?

Don't use 4 X 4, on dry pavement. It needs really muddy/slick stuff if not it will bind and do damage. When in doubt use the Auto mode. Never use 4wd on the dry
