I have a 2012 GMC 2500HD with 6.0 Gas 6 speed transmission. I purchased this truck to pull my boat and future travel trailer. Took the truck on vacation into the mountains in Mo. Going down the hills the transmission would hold the truck from over speed then would release and engine went to idle and the truck took off increasing the speed down the mountain. Going up the mountains the poor truck was laboring so bad trying to compensate the loss of speed it had to shift down three times to finally maintain the speed.
If I would have had my trailer on the trip the truck probably would not have made it up the hills. Put the truck in the shop back home and of course they could not find any problems. Hook the trailer up and pulled it thru Houston Texas on flat ground the truck was constently shifting up and down. Even with our mountains (Overpasses) it had to up shift to maintain the speed. On flat ground it was shifting up and down. This truck has absolutely no power to pull any type of a load.
I would like any feed back from anyone that may have this same issue. I have called GM and I am not getting much assistance there. I even have this on video where it is constantley shifting.
Thanks
