I have a 2001 Gmc sonoma with a 4.3 vortec engine in it. the problem I am having is that when you try to accelerate the engine bogs down and loses power. Almost like it is starving for gas. I have replaced the maf sensor and still did not help the issue any advice is greatly appreciated.

Check the fuel pressure. The fuel filter, pressure regulator, or fuel pump may be the culprit.

Start with the simple and check your Catalytic Converter, make sure it has not gone bad on the inside and is restricting your exhaust flow.

The other area you can look at is also the EGR valve, it make be dirty and stuck in the open position. But a open EGR valve would give you a ruff idle and no power through out your power band also.

As mentioned also, replace your fuel filter if it has not been done in a long time. ;)

Keep us posted and good luck
