1984 gmc

I was wondering how much should i pay for a 1984 GMC pick up truck. I think it is a 1500, dont know yet. I drive by it on the way to college every morning. I called the guy today and asked how much he wanted for the 1988 Ford Ranger with 64,000 original miles and he wanted $2500 for it. That was way too much and i dont want that truck anyways. I really want the GMC sierra. So i called him today and he said it is a 1984 GMC Sierra manual stick but it a " skip" in the motor or engine, i forget which he said. I asked how many miles were on it and he did know off the top of his head. He then asked how much i was looking to spend and i said around not that much like $1000. I was wondering how much should i pay for his and could i get him to dropped the price???? This truck is old and i know it needs work, but i dont think it is worth $1000. He told me to give him a call and come test drive it so i know it is drivable. This is a truck from a rinky dink used car place dealer, not from a GMC or Chevy dealer. How would i go about getting him to give it to me for cheap so i can fix it up??

No more then $450.00 and note, its still running a carb and your going to have to learn how to keep it turned or find a old school tech that knows how to keep it tuned or your going to end up with a garden ornament.

I say $450.00 cause there will not be a lot of interest in that 84 Sierra and being a standard transmission puts out 80% of the people out there that don't knows how to drive one or are to lazy to drive one anymore LOL

Good luck and don't forget to inspect the fuel and brake lines for corrosion, to replace those is a lot of work and takes a lot of time.
