I have a 2004 envoy xuv slt 4.2. I am having the idle drop way down at stop and motor dying. This only happens with a/c or heat on. I think it is the idle air control module which is part of the throttle body 350.00 dollars to buy. Is there any other things it could be?

Its very common on these engine to have this issue from the throttle body getting carbon up causing the IAC to stick or move slowly.
Start with the simple and clean your throttle body with throttle body cleaner, in a bad case of carbon build up. You may have to remove the throttle body it self to clean it out and the IAC. At worst, yes your going to have to replace it, but try cleaning it first.
