So about a month ago the check engine light went on and I took it to auto zone and they said it was the canister purge valve had a leak. I replaced it then a few days ago it came back on and I checked it at auto zone again and it said it was the canister purge valve that had a leak again. So I told the guy and he said it's probably something between the fuel tank and the engine.any help on where exactly to look and what exactly to look for? Any help is appreciated.By the way it is an 04 gmc sierra 1500 5.3L v8. Thanks

google the code that you have and all kinds of information about the code and what to do to correct it will appear, that is one of the best features of the internet,

If you can share the code/s here and see if someone encountered the same problem. Definitely the problem is not on the canister purge valve.

Most likely a bad gas cap, start with the simple and replace the gas cap... Inspect the gas cap for cracks or a bad rubber seal due to wear and tear....

Good luck and keep us posted, hope its just as simple as a gas cap replacement..
