Ok been reading all the q & a on idle issues.
Ran the codes and it it comes up with code p0507 - idle control system rpm high.
So i replaces the idle air control valve. witch is the one located on the driver side of the throttle body.
still no fix.
when you drive it runs about 2g and when u put it in park and wait about 10 to 20 sec it will slowly fade down to 1500/1000. but it will rise back up to 2g when back in drive. We where going down the highway at 65 with appalling the gas at all.

Has anybody found a fix of know of what to do or had the same problem.
What can be done????????

I reposed this cuz i could not get into the one i did the other day.. sorry if it's double posted or what ever...

no cable issue.
what i have replaces so fare.
-throttle position sensor
-idle air control valve
still having the same issue. :-(
not the best vid. but i have a stupid phone.
i start it up and let the idle go down then i put it in gear and i never touch the gas. if i had a good long straight shot it would run up to 55/60 mph just by it's self. it not moving the idle stays around 1g but as soon there is movement it starts to idle up.

Check to make sure the throttle cable isn't to tight and holding it open. (I speak from experience)

nope not the prob. i wish it would have been that simple.

mass air flow - it's good.
idle control valve - good
Throttle Position Sensor - good

I need ideas on what all other sensors that could be gimping up?
Is there a master list of all the sensors on an 01 4.3 jimmy?????

i kinda thinking it has something to do with a sensor that is tied into when the truck starts moving.

question, has any of you guys ever taken your truck to the dealership to get it fixed after the warranty and after it's paid off?
i have a shop i take all my stuff to when i need it work on when i don't have time to do it myself, but they don't have all the fancy equipment like the Chevy dealership shop would and i fig. they might know what could be wrong with it from other truck with the same issues.

Have you re-scanned it ?

Have you cleaned the T. body ?

Note - use T.body cleaner , NOT carb cleaner .
( I think resident expert wrote that carb cleaner eats T.body gaskets )
: )

as i posted earlier on a same topic ill just re elaborate, spray throttle body cleaner around the intake manifold and throttle body housing if the engine bogs while your spraying around you have an intake leak, obviously gaskets this is so common with the 4.3s its like clockwork the gaskets are old frail and leak easy fix just jump into it also
that caused my astro jimmy and typhoon to do the same its a normal thing. especially if your sensors were replaced. fyi if you have a vortec 4.3 one issue you may encounter soon will be a miss and misfire from the engine you may think its trans related replace your distributor cap with the GM OEM unit do not use the aftermarket junk they heat up and do the same crap just a fyi for future reference.
