Okay, so I have a 2003 yukon SLT and the problem I've been having is the stock head unit drains the battery, If I even plug it into the wiring harness and it's not on I t will drain the battery almost instantly. I even bought a new Pioneer head unit with a wiring harness with chimes and stuff to help me wire it. So I wired it all up and the new head unit drains the battery too. I'm wondering what could cause it to drain the battery. And when I say drain it will drain the battery within a minute or so.. No exaggeration. So what could be wrong? Could I have a short? Could I need a new battery? How much should I pay to have this fixed about?

Thank you for reading and for your feedback

i cannot believe the trucks battery goes dead in a MINUTE! Go to a shop/store that offers a free battery load test. I suspect you just might need a new battery. (especilly if its original!!) A 500-900 cca battery cannot be drained anywhere NEAR that fast unless badly defective.

You dont say if truck starts and runs OK if you leave radio disconnected? If you leave a dome light on?? Thats 1 way to narrow it down. Of course u may have a short in that harness too...
