Hello fellow GMC owners!!

I am new here and I come with and issue on my '06 Sierra 1500 Crew cab.. Had this since new and it's been a great truck!
But, although only 52K miles, I am starting to experience small (well..hhmm) problems.. The latest is that my radio (and cassette and CD) is nearly gone.
Turns on, but all I hear is very faint sound and ALL trebble!! Few years back, I lost the sound out of the back speakers, sometimes the R/S front was not as strong.. But around summer 2014 interminently at first, but now full on, I heard as if the sound just totally muted and became very high pitched...
I purchased "remanuf" (original GM) radio - unlocked, but after installing myself - still the same.. Maybe a blown speaker and effecting others? Also, I heard maybe my truck has an aplifier? Where do I look?? Thank you all for any info/help.. Regards.. LF

A blown speaker would not affect the sound of the other speakers. Your truck probably does have a separate amplifier. According to some specs, on a 2012 and you have a console, the amp is in the front portion of the console.
I am about to install a subwoofer, and amplifier. I need to find that same amp. My 2012 does not have the console. I do not have a clue where to look for my amplifier.
I just purchased my 2012 GMC crew cab, after driving a 2001 Tahoe 181k miles. What a nice truck!

Thank you.... MIne is a '06 and three persons said that I do not have an amplifier - looking at thew VIN.. So, I am back to trying to play with speakers... Maybe they all are bad.. cheers... good luck with your issue!~
