I recently bought an '08 Sierra, I haven't changed the oil yet but thought about switching to sythetic but I didn't know if anyone has had good luck with it, or what other GMC owners thought was best. Let me know what you think...

I have been using Synthetic oil for over 20 yrs. My current 2010 GMC Sierra Extended Cab SLT Z71 All Terrain as well as my 2009 Cadillac CTS4 uses 100% synthetic oils in everything from engine to transmission, transfer case, both differentials and Power Steering.
Fyi - The differentials on you truck came factory filled with synthetic gear lube and the ATF is considered to be a synthetic product so I guess it must be good enough to use in the engine. Matter of fact, if you look in the owners manual the even will recommend synthetic oil.
I use AMSOIL which is USA made and the best IMO.
