100k powertrain warranty

Will the powertrain warranty be honored by "the new GM". I understand GM will NOT fix some Impalas because they were purchased from "the old GM"?

If the vehicle is a 2007 model year or later, the Powertrain warranty will be honored. Vehicles before 2007 did not have the 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain warranty.
