I'm running a 1982 GMC Sierra Classic, 6.2L Diesel Automatic, and have been having a couple problems recently. Up until about a week ago, it was running like a watch. Now it's running like shit. The engine idles and revs fine, so the issue doesn't appear to be there (though after searching the forums I may have a misaligned warp plate (?), or something like that). One night while I was driving, I suddenly began to lose power and decelerate, and my engine died. I could start it if I floored the gas pedal, but as soon as I let off, even slightly, it would die. I had over half a tank in my left tank (which I was running off of), so it could either have been a faulty fuel gauge or pump. I filled the right tank and drove off of it, and it appeared to run alright, though significantly rougher than normal. Now when I drive, the gears seem to be shifting much more slowly than normal, and the engine revs much higher than normal. It also seems to be getting stuck at third gear, unable to shift to fourth most of the time. My acceleration and power have dropped also. I have checked all of my fluids, had a recent oil change, and still no luck. I'm suspecting the problem lie with the transmission. Any help that can be provided would be much appreciated.
